I spend most of my time on systems that quietly carry a lot of weight: warehouses pushing hundreds of thousands of orders a day, national licensing platforms, payroll and HR tools people open every morning. The work I'm proudest of tends to look like nothing happening — orders leaving on time, permits getting issued, teams not thinking about the software at all.
